The Government has announced the launch of a new Business Investor Visa aimed at seasoned investors keen to contribute actively to the country\u2019s economic growth.<\/p>\n
This visa will replace Entrepreneur Work Visa, which is now closed to new applications. It also complements the Active Investor Plus Visa, which was updated by Immigration New Zealand (INZ) in April 2025 to broaden investment options and simplify thresholds.<\/p>\n

The Business Investor Work Visa will open for applications in November 2025, and applicants can choose between two investment options:<\/p>\n
1. NZD $1 million investment in an existing business \u2013 eligible for a three-year work-to-residence pathway; or<\/span><\/p>\n 2. No refunds will be given if you withdraw.<\/p>\n If you currently hold an Entrepreneur Work Visa, you may still apply for residence under the Entrepreneur Resident Visa category, which remains open. You can also apply for a renewal of your work visa if you need more time to maintain your pathway to residence under this category.
